MY BACKGROUND
I worked with Equal Employment Opportunity and ADA at Howard University to help implement a sexual harassment policy that was highly effective in reducing claims as well as changing the culture of the university amongst faculty, staff and students. At various points in the past fifteen years I've worked with small businesses, start ups, venues, and educational centers to engage diversity and inclusion initiatives, conflict resolution, and professional development. In the past year, I've worked with several schools in the NYC Department of Education to train and engage community members around issues of equity and was sent to Detroit to present material on equity, equality and diversity initiatives. I currently work with two tech firms helping to formulate and implement diversity and inclusion programs and policies. Outside of my work with businesses, start-ups and educational institutions I am the co-founder of Black Land Ownership — an organization committed to combating the historical, systematic and institutionalized marginalization experienced by people of African descent.
